How to rent out a photography studio on Shopify

Renting your photography or film studio by the hour or day works well on Shopify. Booker adds a booking calendar to the studio product page, so photographers pick a slot and pay up front, and every shoot lands on one calendar. Here is the setup.

Step by step.

1

Set your studio rates

Decide whether you hire by the hour, half day or full day, and set a price for each. If you run more than one studio or set, add each as its own room (Pro plan).

2

Make the studio bookable

Create a product for the studio and enable booking in Booker. Add any add-on spaces as separate rooms (Pro plan) so a client books the exact set they need.

3

Add the calendar to the studio page

Place the Booker calendar block on the product template so clients see live availability and book without emailing back and forth.

4

Set hours and turnaround

Set the hours you open the studio and block out dates you are closed or shooting yourself. Add a lead time so you are not booked with no notice.

5

Take shoots on autopilot

Clients pay when they book, the slot is protected against clashes, and every shoot shows on your admin calendar, syncable to Google Calendar on the Starter and Pro plans.

Good to know.

Can I charge different rates for commercial and editorial shoots?

Yes, on the Pro plan. Pricing tiers let you offer the same studio at different rates and the client picks which applies to their shoot.

Can I rent more than one studio or set?

Yes, on the Pro plan. List each as its own room with its own rate, so clients book the exact space, and you can offer several at once.

Do clients pay a deposit or the full amount?

Either. Clients can pay in full on any plan, or on the Pro plan you can set a deposit percentage and collect the remaining balance yourself at the shoot.
